Since it's beginnings over 40 years ago the club has gone through many changes to become what it is today. Starting originally as a breed club on the east coast it re-located to Lincoln in 1960 and was known as the Lincoln Alsation Association. The training ground was a piece of wasteland on Skellingthorpe Road where obedience classes were held on a Saturday morning. Two local policeman became interested in the club & with owners with breeds apart from GSD's wanting to train their dogs it was decided in the mid 1960's to change the name to Lincoln German Shepherd Dog & All Breeds Training Society (LGSD & ABTS).
